Local governance

The catalogue is prepared in a frame of “The school of drawing investments for public administration units of Western Ukraine” Project. The investment proposals of 12 towns of Western Ukraine with population from 10 to 50 thousand people entered the catalogue. The Catalogue of investment proposals is published in three languages: Ukrainian, English and Polish.

The Project is co-financed from the Polish Aid 2014/2015 Program by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

“Manual on drawing investments” is prepared in result of “The school of drawing investments for public administration units of Western Ukraine” Project and the series of lectures and workshops, that have taken place in Ukraine with participation of representatives of local self-governments, business-environment institutions and experts. The publication is a kind of guide on the most important themes, covering issues of global investment market analysis, development of investment proposal, structure of units for investments promotion, direct contacts with investors; there are also examples of concrete activity.

The experience of Polish institutions dealing with drawing investments, promotion of economic potential and forming of competitive position of towns and regions, accumulated almost from the beginning of nineties years of previous century is used in the manual.

The adviser presents the methodic of preparation and holding of public hearings as an efficient tool for community involvement to the decision making process. It is addressed to representatives of local self-governmental bodies, leaders of NGOs, territorial communities.

The publication became possible thanks to support of the International Renaissance Foundation within the project “Civic dimension of educational changes in the city of Lviv”.

Educational change in Lviv: a Policy Paper. – Lviv: Institute for Policy Studies, 1999. – 48 p.

It was the first in Ukraine attempt to work out a strategy of education development at the local level. This strategic document has been developed during the series of workshops with participation of representatives of central government, local self-governments, NGOs, scientific and educational institutions, business and international experts. The expert support was provided by the International Center for Policy Studies (Kyiv).

The publication was fulfilled in the framework of the project “Development the Strategy of Educational Policy of Lviv city” with financial support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
